
Antowaun Mathis charged with first degree murder
HAMPTON, Va. – U.S. Marshals arrested a 31-year-old fugitive Wednesday who was wanted for murder in Harvey, Illinois.
Antowaun Mathis is accused of shooting and killing a man on June 14. On June 21, he was charged with first degree murder and the U.S. Marshals Office in Chicago was asked to assist in locating him.
U.S. Marshals discovered Mathis had left Illinois and was staying with family in Hampton.
Mathis was located and arrested on Wednesday. He is not being held in the Hampton City Jail awaiting extradition to Illinois.
