TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Redskins rushed for 188 yards in the first half alone, en route to a 20-13 win at Tampa in the team’s preseason finale.
The vast majority of Washington’s key players sat-out, with many not even making the trip. Rookie, third-string quarterback Nate Sudfeld played the entire contest. He completed eight of 18 passes for 72 yards and a 13 yard touchdown pass to Rashad Ross in the third quarter.
Mack Brown’s 60 yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the game’s initial score. Brown finished the game with 149 yards on 19 carries. The Redskins total 245 yards on the ground.
After dropping its first preseason game, Washington wins three straight to finish the preseason 3-and-1. The Redskins host Pittsburgh Monday September 12th in the regular season opener.
