VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - One week after a carjacking in the 1500 block of Sangaree Circle, a neighbor down the street says she too was attacked.

Neighbors tell News 3 a woman was driving home when a man stopped her outside her home. The woman says the man tried to get into her car. She was able to fend him off and called police.

The news spread quickly through the neighborhood, causing one woman to take action to protect her home and community.

"I have a petition that we should all sign," said Carmen Jones. "We want officers to come by at least once in a blue moon."

Jones says her grandson was the man who was first attacked last week.

"He just told me a day ago about the incident because it's been a traumatic shock to him," said Jones.

According to Police Jones' grandson was approached by three men in the driveway of his Sangaree Circle home. Police say one of the men pulled out a gun and demanded that he get out of the car, then the men jumped in the car and took off.

"I'm glad he's alive but then here it is one Monday again my neighbor across the street, a similar incident happened again," said Jones.

Now Jones says she is hoping if she collects enough signatures, Police will increase patrols in the neighborhood.

"I'm going around and knocking on doors and I'm saying this has got to stop," said Jones. "I don't see any police officers here. According to the police officers they are investigating, but I don't see any police officers or detectives."
