ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. – Two people have been arrested in Carrollton after admitting to stealing items from a construction site.

The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office had received several reports of larcenies from the construction site for a new apartment complex at the intersection of Carrollton Boulevard and Smiths Neck Road.

In the early morning hours of September 6, deputies spotted a vehicle attempting to leave the site. The vehicle, a white Ford F-150, was loaded down with construction material and tools.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and questioned the occupants, who first gave multiple reasons for being at the site before admitting to stealing items.

They were identified as 414-year-old Lamonty Lewis and 43-year-old Sonya Weedon.
