CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A bicyclist has died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle, according to police.
At 8:30 p.m. police responded to the 4500 block of South Military Highway after a 2003 GMC Envoy hit the cyclist from behind.
The driver of the vehicle said he did not see the cyclist when he turned onto Military Highway.
The cyclist was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 62-year-old Michael Law. He was reportedly staying at the nearby Bowers Inn.
The accident is still being investigated and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
