The unit is equipped with both 3D and 2D technology. 3D mammography (also known as tomosynthesis) has been proven to detect breast cancer at a 27-percent higher rate than traditional 2D mammography, according to the journal Radiology.

Additionally, a study of nearly a half-million women by The American Medical Association found that 3D mammography, combined with traditional 2D mammography, increased detection rates of invasive cancers by 41-percent and reduced additional screenings by 15-percent.

To schedule a screening day at your facility or to schedule an individual appointment, call (757) 312-6400 or send an email to ChesapeakeMammo@chesapeakeregional.com
