RICHMOND, Va. – Now that kids are playing school sports again, a lot of parents start to worry about their kid getting injured.
But when it comes to concussions, there can be a lot of uncertainties – how do you prevent it, how is treated and how can you keep your kid safe?
VCU is helping to answer some of those questions.
VCU Health hosted a Facebook Live chat to help parents better understand concussions.
Dr. David Cifu, chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, hosted the live chat.
Cifu answered questions about how to prevent, diagnose and treat concussions.
Cifu is the principal investigator on a $62.2 million federally funded concussion-focused grant.
