Neglected dog loses 35 pounds of matted fur after being rescued

Posted

A neglected dog is getting a new lease on life after recently being rescued from a ‘poop-filled barn’ stall in Southwestern Virginia.

The dog was found after its terminally ill owners reached out for help and then surrendered him.

Groomers removed 35 pounds of overgrown matted hair and dirt from his body.

The dog, who has been named Lazarus, now resides with foster mom Amanda Brooke Charsha-Lindsey, a volunteer with Big Fluffy Dog Rescue, who is taking wonderful care of him.

She posts many updates on his progress and says he is timid due to his history of neglect, but that he’s a happy dog who is adjusting well to his new lifestyle.

He even had to learn how to walk without all that heavy hair!
