Two Texas officers shot while responding to 911 call

FORT WORTH, Texas – Two police officers were hurt while answering a call about a possible suicide in Fort Worth.

The call came in around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

When the two officers arrived, they found a person with a gunshot to the head.

Officers were told there was a witness who went into a shed on the property. When officers opened the door of the shed, the suspect shot at officers. The officers returned fire and the condition of the suspect is unknown.

The officers were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. One officer was shot multiple times in the torso and is in critical condition. The second officer was shot once in the chest, but the bullet was deflected by his ballistic vest.
