Family of two displaced after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Two people have been displaced after a fire damaged their home Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Waters Road at 2 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a single family home with smoke and fire coming from the back of the house.

According to Chesapeake Fire officials, the fire appears to have started on the exterior of the house and extended into a bedroom on the second floor.

The fire was under control around 2:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
