NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Newport News Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Saturday afternoon.
Officer B.J. Maynard with the Newport News Police Department says the call for the shooting was reported at 4:38 p.m. on Saturday, October 1st.
When officers arrived to the 13000 block of Aqueduct Drive, they found a 22-year-old Newport News man who had been shot in the upper leg.
Police believe the man’s injuries are non-life threatening and say he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
At this point, officers do not have any suspects and say the shooting is under investigation.
