NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A 7-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Sunday evening after colliding with a vehicle and police say the driver didn’t stop.
According to Newport News Police, the boy was riding his bicycle in the 100 block of Alan Drive when he rode into a slow moving vehicle.
After the collision, the boy fell off his bike, causing minor bruising and scratches.
Police describe the vehicle as a grey SUV and say the driver, a young woman between 20-25 years old, drove off without stopping.
The collision happened just after 6:30 P.M.
The boy who was riding the bicycle was taken to a local hospital, but is expected to be okay.
An investigation is still on-going.
