WINDSOR, N.C. – Officials are investigating a homicide that happened Tuesday morning.
Bertie County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report that shots had been fired in the area of Cedar Landing Road around 5:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a vehicle parked in an open field and located the body of 50-year-old Bryan Okeffee Harrell inside of the vehicle.
The cause of death is pending autopsy and a joint investigation between the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is ongoing.
