DALLAS - It's so easy to get too busy "adulting" to take care of your inner child and that's what makes places like the State Fair of Texas so important. Everything there is perfect for feeding your inner child.
Of course, my favorite has to be the food. All that deep-fried fair fare is an indulgence for sure, and it's one that brings us back to being a kid and enjoying all the cotton candy, funnel cake, and corny dogs we could get our hands on. These days, though, my favorite's the sausage-on-a-stick.
And then there's the rides and games! The Midway can get your adrenaline pumping and your competitive nature kicked in, and you can win stuffed animals while you're at it. Tell me that doesn't make for a great break from the real world of being a grown-up.
If stuffed animals don't do it for you, what about the real thing? The State Fair's petting zoo has tons of animals, big and small. Nothing like a baby goat to awaken the kid in you. Ha! Get it?
It doesn't have to be at the Fair, but do make sure to feed your inner child a steady diet of delicious food and exciting fun. Keeping that inner child well-fed -- that's the Spice of Blythe.
