NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk has made pest control company Orkin’s list of the Top 50 Rattiest Cities.
According to the survey, 52 percent of Norfolk residents have had a rodent present in the home.
Sixty-one percent say that Norfolk has a pest problem, but only 46 percent of residents are concerned about rodents actually spreading disease.
Orkin states that residential areas are perfect for rodents because they have the food, shelter and water they need to survive.
Rodents can cause major problems for homeowners by not only carrying diseases but also chewing through electrical wiring to create potential fire hazards.
