RICHMOND, Va. – A woman who taught at Huguenot High School in Richmond pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery in court on Wednesday.
Courtney Stewart, 25, was sentenced to two years behind bars.
All but two months of that jail sentence was suspended by the judge.
Stewart, who was a high school exceptional education teacher, was arrested in March after her relationship with a 17-year-old student came to light.
It was not made clear whether or not the student was in Stewart’s class, or simply just attended Huguenot High.
