VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Crews from Coast Guard Station Little Creek spent hours towing a 42-foot disabled vessel.
The vessel became disabled 45 miles offshore after the rudder shaft snapped.
Around 1 :30 a.m. Saturday, the first crew was relieved by a second crew after spending over seven hours towing the vessel for 35 miles.
The second crew from Station Little Creek finally arrived at Rudee Inlet around 5:30 a.m.
