NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. – A Williamsburg man was killed in a crash on Interstate 64 in New Kent County Sunday afternoon.
According to Virginia State Police, a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling west on I-64 at the 213 mile marker.
The motorcycle was changing lanes at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a 2016 Dodge Journey also traveling westbound.
State Police say the motorcyclist, Jarrett Schoerner, 21, of Williamsburg was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.
Schoerner was wearing a helmet and the driver of the Dodge was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation.
