SUFFOLK, Va. – Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.
Emergency Communications received a call about the incident at 8:38 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Portsmouth Blvd./Route 58 just past the intersection of Suburban Drive when a man was struck while trying to cross the road.
The victim received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire and Rescue personnel and was transported to Hampton Roads Regional Airport to be airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The man suffered serious injuries, according to police.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
