Man leaves behind shirt after sexually assaulting woman in roadside ditch

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of the shirt the man who sexually assaulted a woman in a ditch left behind after the attack.

The two-hour attack happened Monday morning between 2:45 to 3:15, according to investigators.

It started when the man hit the woman's car and forced her off the road on Kings Highway (Route 3) in Stafford.

"After the accident, the unknown male suspect forcibly removed the victim from her vehicle and dragged her into a ditch off the roadway where he sexually assaulted her over a two hour period," a Stafford County Sheriff’s spokesperson said.

Once the suspect drove away, the victim made it back to her vehicle and called 911. A deputy arrived at the scene just as she was calling for help.

According to WTVR, the suspect was described as a Hispanic male approximately 30 years old.

He was described to be 5’8” to 5’9” and 170 to 180 pounds. He has black hair and a short black beard.

He was wearing light colored blue jeans and a sleeveless white tank top under an orange, blue, and white plaid long sleeved shirt.

He spoke Spanish and broken English.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored SUV.
