DALLAS -- If you're a little sad that Halloween's over, that's okay - so are we. But just because jack-o-lantern season is over, doesn't mean it's time to toss that pumpkin out! We have lots of ideas for how to put it to good use!
The easiest is to just take the top off the pumpkin, fill it with bird seed and set it in the back yard. Instant bird and squirrel feeder!
But if you think that idea is for the birds, you can also use that pumpkin to feed yourself. Clean off the outside, cut it up, roast it with some salt, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Then puree and blend it into a pumpkin base. From there, you can make bread, hummus, cookies, pie, ice cream. Pretty much anything you want!
And if you haven't already, it's time to get those seeds ready for snacking. Clean them off, bake them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, then season them however you want, and keep them around all November for a healthy, delicious snack.
The Spice of Blythe is to Pumpkin up your November! Don't let Halloween be the end of your Fall celebration, and don't let that pumpkiny goodness go to waste.
