Thomas Cannella (I), running for Poquoson City Council, Central Precinct
1. Why are you running for office?
I am running because the citizens in Poquoson are seeking young, energized, and wise leadership. Current Councilman Henry Ayer is not seeking re-election and I decided to run for his seat, and he has endorsed me.
2. Why should people vote for you?
People should vote for me because I have familiarized myself with the issues facing Poquoson and have offered solutions. I am young and can offer a new perspective to city council.
3. What’s your favorite thing about the area you want to represent?
The people. The citizens of Poquoson don’t only make a city, we make a large family, and I would love to represent them on City Council.
4. What is the biggest problem your area is facing, how will you fix it?
We must diversify our tax base. Poquoson is extremely dependent on personal property and real estate taxes, so we need to attract businesses to the city.

Not an issue in Poquoson.
