HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – Tidewater Community College has gained national recognition as a top school for military-related students.
The school was ranked 12th nationally in the Military Times’ Best for Vets: College 2017 survey. Over 500 colleges took the Military Times survey, which evaluated special rules, academic outcomes, financial incentives offered to military-related students and military culture on campus.
TCC was also named a Top School in Military Advanced Education and Transition’s 2017 Guide to Colleges and Universities. The MAE&T evaluated military culture, financial aid, flexibility, general support, on-campus support and online support services. Over 600 other schools filled out the same questionnaire regarding each school’s military support policies to be included in the 2017 Guide to Colleges and Universities.
Our mission is serving military, veterans and their families every day,” said Cal Scheidt, director of military contract programs at TCC’s Center for Military and Veterans Education, which provides consolidated student services for military-related students on each campus. “We are committed to providing education and career transition training and support for those who served our nation.”
