Delta Air Lines announced Tuesday that their new luggage technology may make checking a bag a little easier.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) bag tags are attached to luggage and send live push notifications from your bag’s journey.

The notification lets travelers know when their bag is on an aircraft, which carousel it will arrive at for pickup, and much more!

Delta says they are the only carrier to use the RFID tracking technology on a global scale.

The International Air Transport Association showed that RFID could greatly help to reduce the number of mishandled bags up to 25% by 2022.

The notifications would come through the Delta app that many travelers already have.

CBS news reports that American Airlines already notifies customers when their bags are loaded or unloaded from a plane. They also state that Alaska Airlines is testing electronic bag tags.

Even though you will always know where your belongings are, you may just be on a plane going somewhere while reading that your things are going the opposite direction.
