NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police Chief Michael Goldsmith has been promoted to Deputy City Manager.
Goldsmith will start his new role on December 1 and will oversee the departments of Police, Fire, Emergency Operations and Neighborhood Development.
Deputy Chief of Police Larry Boone will become the new Chief of Police on December 1.
We are expecting a news conference sometime Friday when Goldsmith will address the change.
