NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – On Tuesday Dispatch Communications received a call for a shooting in the 2000 Block of Wickham Avenue.
The incident was reported at 9:03 p.m. and when police arrived they located a male victim with what appeared to be a life threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg area.
The victim, a 43-year-old man, was treated on scene but shortly after was taken to a nearby local hospital for further treatment. Police say he is in stable condition.
Police say witnesses reported seeing a green colored Acura vehicle leaving the area, when the gunshots were heard.
Police are investigating suspect information.
