NORFOLK, Va. – Local Walmart and Sam’s Club associates and customers raised more than $652,000 for the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.
The money was raised during a seven-week campaign for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The national campaign raised nearly $37 million for member hospitals across the United States.
The money will support the radiology department at CHKD.
Associates at 40 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations held several in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members to donate at the register.
“Our associates play a key role in giving back to the community and have done a tremendous job raising money to support local hospitals and help kids in need,” said Bob Davis, Walmart Regional Manager. “We are honored to be a long-term partner with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and help give children the chance to live better.”
Walmart and Sam’s Club have collected nearly $1 billion since partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network in 1987.
