VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - For more than a month, Jamey Hendrix and his family were not able to use anything in their home that required water, including their faucets, shower or toilet.

Every time they did, they say sewage would leak under their home.

News 3 took action for the family after learning about the situation last week, once we confronted the property manager, the issues were fixed.

"It definitely feels good back to the day to day things," said Hendrix. "We are back in our house and able to flush and do everything we need to do. "

According to Hendrix, the issue began back in November. He says a burst pipe under the home caused sewage to leak into the ground. Ultimately the leak caused a sink hole to open.

Hendrix says his home began to sink and his neighbors started to complain about the smell.

"I am glad with the turnout and that this is where we are standing at now. I'm keeping it as a positive," Hendrix explained.

News 3 spoke to the property manager of the Derby Run trailer park and shortly after we left the property, the Hendrix's issues started to be fixed. A week later the pipe has been fixed and the sink hole filled in. The city of Virginia Beach also got involved to resolve the issue.

"Miss. Denise in the office has been very helpful in getting everything done I am greatly appreciative," said Hendrix.

Now the Hendrix family says they are able to live their lives comfortably again and are looking forward to enjoying their holidays in their own home.
