PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in Portsmouth on Sunday afternoon.
Detectives believe the shooting occurred in the area of Downes St. and Dewey St.
Dispatch received a 911 call at 1:01 p.m. requesting medical assistance to the 3200 block of Gwin St.
According to police, the victim, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
He was taken to the hospital by medics with non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time, police say that they do not have a suspect or a motive in this case.
