SUFFOLK, Va. – A Suffolk Police officer’s cruiser was hit by a suspected drunk driver when he was helping a stranded motorist.
The incident occurred in the 3300 block of Bridge Road Sunday morning, according to officials with the Suffolk Police Department.
The officer suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash, while the driver was not injured.
Police arrested Travis Winston Buchanon, 37, of Illinois on the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
