Vehicle crashes into Norfolk apartment complex while child warms up car

NORFOLK, Va. – A child drove a car into an apartment complex building Wednesday morning, according to Norfolk Police.

It happened around 11 a.m. in the 1100 block of Louisa Street.

Police say the child, a pre-teen, went to start the vehicle to warm it up without his parent’s knowledge. After starting the vehicle, it went into gear and hit an apartment building.

The fire department is on scene to make sure the building is safe. There are no reported injuries.
