The first hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season has formed.
Hurricane Beryl (now back at a tropical storm) started gaining strength in the central tropical Atlantic last week.
As of 5 p.m. Sunday, Beryl is located about 60 miles northeast of Martinique and moving west-northwest at 26 mph. On the forecast track, the center of Beryl will move across the Leeward Islands and move near or south of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Monday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph with higher gusts.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Dominica.
