WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – A man from Isle of Man, United Kingdon, died after being struck by a car in the 200 block of Bypass Road Tuesday night while crossing the street in Williamsburg.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said the man, Michael Craine, 68, was with his wife when he was hit. His wife did not sustain any injuries, police added.

Craine was hit by a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling on Bypass Road. After the Volkswagen struck Craine, it also struck a 2011 Ford Edge.

Bypass Road was closed eastbound from Commons Way to Route 132 when Virginia State Police was investigating the scene. It is now back open.

The crash remains under investigation.
