The Virginia State Park System would like to offer a "first day hike." All 41 Virginia State Parks will be offering free parking on New Year's Day as a way to encourage people to get out in nature in 2023. Hikes will be led by park rangers, or you can choose your own trails. Visitors will receive a commemorative sticker while supplies last.
Through New Year's Day, you can still catch the Bayport Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach. The drive thru event starts at 5:30 p.m. every day of the week.
Dec. 30 and 31, "Brick Fest Live" gets underway at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton. Organizers say there will be over a million bricks on display and ready for play. Tickets start at $20.
