VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Big Soup Servathon event helped feed 1,500 servings of soup for local shelters and service providers.
The Virginia Beach Convention Center (VBCC) and its food and beverage supplier, Sodexo Live!, recently partnered to prepare 1,500 servings of soup for local shelters and service providers.
The Big Soup Servathon event was led by VBCC Executive Chef Desiree Neal and was part of the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation. The foundation's mission is to end hunger and address food insecurity.
The VBCC’s 1,500 servings of soup were provided to the following local organizations:
- Salvation Army ARC in Virginia Beach
- Soup Kitchen in Norfolk
- Union Mission in Norfolk
- Judeo-Christian Outreach Center in Virginia Beach
“Putting our team’s culinary talents to work feeding our neighbors helped us extend meaningful connections within the Hampton Roads community,” said Bryan Miller, Virginia Beach Convention Center general manager. “We were grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation on The Big Soup Servathon outreach event this year.”
