VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — If you’ve been on social media, you may have seen what is called the “Virginia Beach Sign Wars!”

What began with a challenge to Haygood Skating Center from Cinema Cafe, has now expanded into dozens of businesses that are "clapping back" in the friendly battle.

“I had a family tag me yesterday. They went to get fast food in the Haygood Shopping Center and they are in our parking lot because they wanted to see what the next sign was going to be and I’m like I’m up on this ladder-like to die every day," said Shaggy, owner of Haygood Skating Center.

It is already spreading beyond Virginia Beach.

"Someone wrote me and said can Norfolk play? I’m like sure. Like, I know we are all in Virginia Beach, I don’t care anyone can get it," said Shaggy.

Chicos, Cinema Cafe, and even churches from Virginia Beach to Norfolk are participating.
