The Associated Press projects that Republican Mark Robinson, a political newcomer, will win the race for North Carolina's lieutenant governor.
Robinson faced Democrat and North Carolina House of Representatives member Yvonne Holley.
He will become North Carolina's first Black lieutenant governor.
