VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The City of Virginia Beach honors the lives lost during the Virginia Beach mass shooting with a flower memorial at Mount Trashmore.

This specially designed symbol, Forget-Me-Not tribute, honors those that were lost and those who were injured on May 31, 2109 at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center.

The Park & Landscape Services team created the 'Forget-Me-Not' tribute.

The explanation of that design as well as details for the at-home and ceremonial activities planned beginning May 29 are included on the newly redesigned LoveForVB.com memorial website.

A gunman killed 12 people and seriously injured four others during the mass shooting in Building 2 of the Virginia Beach Municipal Center on May 31 of last year.

The City of Virginia Beach is planning virtual events in honor of the mass shooting victims including, "Lighting the Path: Together We Remember.'
