IKEA Norfolk hosting 'After Dark Sleep Festival' in February

NORFOLK, Va. - IKEA has decided that it’s time to save our sleep! IKEA Norfolk will be hosting an After Dark Sleep Festival on Saturday, February 22 from 3 to 9 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the store to take part in workshops and activities, sample Swedish foods and enjoy breakfast for dinner in the IKEA restaurant from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Starting at 10 a.m., on the day of the Sleep Festival, an IKEA Family welcome table will be set up in the store entrance. Customers who stop by and sign up to be an IKEA Family Member will receive a free welcome gift (while supplies last). Already a member? Check in at the table to be entered to win a Slumber Snack Basket. We’ll also have free coffee for all Family Members.

Schedule of events:

3 – 8:30 p.m.
Selfie Bed and IKEA Food Sampling
Sample Swedish foods that you can include in you morning or nighttime routine and hop on our selfie bed to take a snapshot. Don’t forget to include #IKEAAfterDark when you post your photos!

3 -4 p.m.
Dress the Bed Workshop
As the season changes, learn how to give your bedroom a fresh look. We’ll show you how to match your bedroom style with textiles to get you in the spring mood. After the workshop, be sure to stay for the Dress the Bed game, where you’ll have a chance to win a prize!

4-5 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
Pillow Pair Game
The right pillow is important! Join us at our pillow bar, where you’ll have fun browsing our pillow menu to help you find your perfect pillow pair. You’ll even have a chance to take home your favorite pillow!

5-6 p.m.
PAX Wardrobe System: Storage That Suits You and Your Closet
Looking to organize and customize your closet space? Join us for closet inspiration and organization tops. Plus, find the PAX that really suits you and your closet because you decide it all—the size, color, style, sliding or hinged doors, and the interior organization. Learn tips from Anna Fitzgerald, the first consultant in Virginia for KonMari, a method of decluttering and organizing by Marie Kondo and her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.

7-8 p.m.
Sound Asleep
Learn how SYMFONISK can be a part of your bedtime routine and your bedroom décor. Bookshelf speakers can serve as a nightstand using the wall brackets. The speaker lamp emits a soft lift, as not to interrupt your sleep. The speakers can stream soothing music vis WiFi without interruptions.
