NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A fifth employee at Newport News Shipbuilding has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a release by the shipyard.

Jennifer Boykin, the president of Newport News Shipbuilding and executive vice president of Huntington Ingalls Industries, announced the fifth case on Facebook Sunday afternoon.

Boykin says the employee works in building 600-1 at the Off-Yard office located at 39th St. and Marshall Avenue. The employee's last time at work was on March 13, according to Boykin.

Boykin says she will now share a weekly report each Friday to summarize all cases.

Four more employees tested positive earlier in the week.
