Missing man's body located in Chesapeake creek, no foul play suspected

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The Chesapeake Police Department was searching for a man who was reported missing.

Thomas Wayne Snipes was last seen in the area of 1600 Faulk Street in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake on January 16, 2021. According to police, he was last seen wearing a camouflage coat, light blue jeans and work boots.

On March 15 police said his body was located in Chesapeake in the area of Shell Road and Magnolia Drive.

Officers found his body floating in a creek, and the Chesapeake Police Underwater Search and Recovery Team was activated to assist in the recovery of the body which was later identified as Snipes.

Police said foul play is not suspected.
