HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - With the coronavirus shutting down businesses, people everywhere are losing their jobs. However, some companies are hiring and are desperate for workers.

Grocery stores, big companies like Walmart and convenience stores like 7-Eleven are seeing a rush of customers every day and now they’re needing help. 7-Eleven is looking to add up to 20,000 jobs because of increased business.

Kroger recently said it needs 10,000 new workers. If you're interested, you must apply on Kroger's website. The company said you could land a job within several days of applying.

Both Dollar Tree and Dollar General are taking applications, and Walmart plans to add 150,000 positions.

Amazon is also seeing a surge in online orders and is looking for 100,000 people. The retail giant is also raising the minimum pay to $17 an hour through April.

And of course because of the lockdown, many people are ordering in, so Dominos expects to hire some 10,000 people. The company says they need delivery drivers and pizza makers now that so many more people are choosing to order delivery.

Hampton City Schools say they are hiring. School leaders will be having a virtual teacher job fair starting Monday morning. The job fair will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day this week.
