Chesapeake JDR court issues emergency closure after employee tests positive for COVID-19

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The Chesapeake Juvenile and Domestic Relations District court has issued an emergency closure.

Officials say an employee has tested positive test for COVID-19, forcing the Chesapeake JDR Court to be closed until further notice. The closure will allow for disinfecting of the Clerk's office and testing of the court staff, including judges.

On Tuesday, Chesapeake reported 73 new COVID-19 cases with a percent positivity rate of 14.7%.
