ACCOMAC, Va. - The Eastern Shore Health District announces free drive-thru COVID-19 testing at Eastern Shore Community College.

On May 8 and May 9, Eastern Shore Community College will host the free drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinic and the opportunity to complete a five-minute survey.

On May 8, testing began at 10 a.m. and ended 30 minutes early due to the rain. Officials provided 819 tests Friday. Members from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were also on site conducting surveys with each participant.

On May 9, testing will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until supplies run out.

The Virginia National Guard will administer the tests and the Virginia Health Department staff will provide testers information on how to best protect yourself and others from COVID-19 transmission.

The event is for people age 16 and older.

Those who get tested will receive a call from the Eastern Shore Health District with your results.

Health officials say a total of 1,407 tests were provided on both Friday and Saturday.
