HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton City Council members will get COVID-19 tests after Governor Northam visited the city and then tested positive for the virus this week.

Northam came to town Tuesday to make an announcement about a new Huntington Ingalls facility.

City officials were there and also had a city council meeting Wednesday.

Hampton Mayor Donnie Tuck said he personally had a brief interaction with Northam that was socially distant.

He added that the city council meeting was also socially distant and said the COVID-19 tests are out of an abundance of caution.
