The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 377,300 total cases, 313,349 of which are confirmed and 63,951 are probable. There are 5,226 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,604 being confirmed and 622 being probable. The case numbers are up by 5,387, and deaths are up by 35 since Tuesday.
A total of 4,428,211 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Wednesday there are 2,618 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 307 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 2,925 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 110 more hospitalizations from Tuesday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 18,636.
537 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
357 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 1,040 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,026 in the state - that's 34% usage.
32,101 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
The statewide percent of positive COVID-19 tests is still on the rise and is now 16.7% positive.
