Norfolk reports highest overnight increase with 14 new coronavirus cases, most cities see little increase

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 52,647 total cases, 50,275 of which are confirmed and 2,372 are probable. There are 1,520 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,413 being confirmed and 107 being probable. The case numbers are up by 470, and deaths are up by 6 since Wednesday.

A total of 453,869 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Monday , there are 1,069 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 358 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 273 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

138 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 587 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,952 in the state - that's 20% usage.

6,895 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 622 cases, 98 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+5 from Wednesday)
  • Accomack 984 cases, 55 hospitalized, 13 deaths (0 from Wednesday)
  • Northampton 259 cases, 34 hospitalized, 27 deaths (+2 from Wednesday)
  • Hampton 233 cases, 37 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+2 from Wednesday)
  • Norfolk 619 cases, 74 hospitalized, 7 deaths (+14 from Wednesday)
  • James City County 225 cases, 56 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+1 from Wednesday)
  • Newport News 337 cases, 41 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+7 from Wednesday)
  • Poquoson 10 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+1 from Wednesday)
  • Williamsburg 49 cases, 11 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+1 from Wednesday)
  • York County 89 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+3 from Wednesday)
  • Portsmouth 364 cases, 56 hospitalized, 11 deaths (+10 from Wednesday)
  • Gloucester 34 cases, 8 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+1 from Wednesday)
  • Virginia Beach 832 cases, 107 hospitalized, 27 deaths (+9 from Wednesday)
