North Carolina breaks record set Saturday, reports 6,438 new COVID-19 cases as hospitalizations continue to rise

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Sunday, there are now 369,538 PCR positive cases and 25,452 antigen positive cases, 2,191 people hospitalized and 5,543 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 6,438 new total cases and 27 additional deaths from Saturday, breaking Saturday's record for the state's highest single-day case increase.

A total of 5,585,824 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.

North Carolina's statewide percent of positive COVID-19 tests fell to 10.4% on Sunday, down from 10.7%.
