Watch live: Gov. Roy Cooper updates North Carolina as coronavirus cases, deaths rise

Confirmed coronavirus cases and virus-related death numbers rose again from Monday to Tuesday in North Carolina.

The state now has 187 more cases and has 6,951. There are also 34 more deaths and North Carolina has now seen 213 coronavirus-related deaths as of Tuesday morning.

There are 427 people currently hospitalized due to the virus and 83,331 tests have been completed overall in the state.

As of Tuesday morning the county with the most cases is Mecklenburg County at 1,245.

Officials announced that all non-resident property owners will be able to gain access into Corolla starting on Thursday, April 23, at 9 a.m

The Board also set a date of May 15, to begin allowing visitors to access Corolla. This date will be re-evaluated during the next Board of Commissioners meeting on May 4.
