North Carolina reports record increase of 4,296 COVID-19 cases; Dare County reports highest local case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 308,548 PCR positive cases and 16,610 antigen positive cases, 1,538 people hospitalized and 4,936 COVID-19 related deaths. With PCR and antigen cases combined, North Carolina is now reporting 320,862 total COVID-19 cases.

That is 4,296 new cases and 38 additional deaths from Wednesday.

Local areas reported 46 new cases and 3 deaths, with Dare County seeing the highest daily increase of 13 cases.

A total of 4,769,653 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
